Solar Eclipse 2017! So cool! We only got a partial total eclipse, but it was awesome! It got dark and shadowy, but the biggest change I noticed was the temperature drop! The girls and I went to Lake Wilderness where there were lots of fun kid activities to do while watching the eclipse. Michael got to watch from outside of work.

This is Whitley boycotting that summer will ever end. Blackberry face everyday, without fail. She knows exactly where the berry bushes are on the trail, and she grunts and grunts until she gets some.

Early morning run to the top of MacDonald Mountain with my friend, Kelly Smith. It was beautiful! You just cannot beat running in the Pacific Northwest!! We ran hard, hoping to make it to the top (4.5 miles up) before we had to turn around so she would have enough time to make it back for her daughters soccer game. Fortunately, we were able to make it all the way up, but on the way down, we made a wrong turn, which sent us down the opposite side of the mountain. So, we ended up running up and over the mountain, instead of just up and back down the same way. By the time we realized it, we were almost at the bottom, and we really didn't want to have to run back up the mountain, so we kept heading down hoping for the best. Once we got off the trail, we had to run around the base of the mountain (about 3 more miles) back to the car, for a total run of about 12 miles. It was so fun though, being slightly lost, but never really worried. I would do it all again in a heartbeat! The only thing I would change is that next time, I will actually wake up to my alarm.

Salmon Run in the Cedar River. Only 5 minutes away, we could see 3-4 ft. long salmon swimming upstream. We've gone a few times during the run already and the girls love watching the "pink fish"
