Greenbluff and Halloween

There are few prettier places in the world than the orchards up at Greenbluff in the fall. Per tradition, we went up to the pumpkin patch, went on a hayride, Oaklyn rode the "little toot" train, ate hot pumpkin doughnuts. To me, that's the best part of Halloween festivities. We will never be "that family" dressed up all matchy and coordinated in our homemade costumes. Yeah, not happening : ) That being said, Oaklyn was super excited to be Princess Belle for the church trunk-or-treat and then as soon as we got home, she changed into her Ariel costume to trick-or-treat to a few neighbors. I wore a Brazil soccer jersey for the second year in a row, which makes it a tradition, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Whitley was a Brazilian soccer player, too- both of us reppin' the famous #10.  And as for Michael...he got to wear the blow-up tourist costume I wore one year in middle school. Lucky!

Indian Painted Rocks

It felt great to get out for a little hike on a perfect fall day. We went to Indian Painted Rocks Trailhead, along the Little Spokane River.

Behind the bars (in red, above O's head) is where the Indians literally painted on the rocks, back in the day.

Colbert Classic Half Marathon

At the beginning of October, Michael ran the Colbert Classic Half Marathon. He did great and ran a PR! The course was only minutes away from home, out at beautiful Greenbluff, full of orchards and country roads. Oakie and I leap-frogged him in the car, cheering him on.

Gonzaga Spike Night

We love going to the family Spike Nights at Gonzaga and pretty much any other fun event on campus. We usually hit up our favorite pizza spot, Blaze Pizza while we're at it.

Sometimes, the do-rag life chooses you.

One of Oaklyn's favorite parts about campus is this huge touch screen drawing wall.

On the sidelines of the women's rugby game, but mostly just playing with the "turf beads"

Gonzaga Campus in the fall

For the Halloween Spike Night, we got to make candy necklaces and carve pumpkins! Then we watched Hotel Transylvania downstairs in the "theater"

Just a little Saturday morning Daniel Boone

#throwbacktodisposablecameras I found a treasure trove of old disposable cameras from back in the day and I can't wait to get them developed and see what gems are on them! Oaklyn got to use up all the extra film and loved playing "photographer"..."good, now smile and pretend to be a cat"

Because every now and then we take a picture of something other that our girls (Bear Lake in the background)

Oaklyn was SO excited to get to go to "school" (private study room in the library) with Dad. She filled her backpack with princess toys and a full jar of peanut butter, "just in case". I am so proud.

This is what it looks like when you try to exercise at home without putting on a show. (At least there is a towel under the giant jug of water filled with bananagrams)
