Train Ride at the Oregon Railway History Museum

Yesterday, we went to the Oregon Railway History Museum for Oaklyn's friend's birthday party. It was awesome! We got to go on a train ride along the Willamette River, and inside the museum, were a few huge trains. To say Oaklyn loved the train ride would be an understatement. She was so excited and clapping and pointing out what she saw the whole time. We got to ride in an open cab and Oaklyn loved sticking her head out to feel the wind on her face. It fed her inner adrenaline junkie. This was definitely one of those hidden gems in Portland that we didn't even know about until today. This city, never lets us down when it comes to new fun adventures.

Oakie Overload

One last Oakie overload of pictures I want to include when I print this blog into a book to remember this year : ) These are of the last 6 months or so. All the random pictures I have prior to that will be in Oaklyn's "Baby Book" that I swear I am going to finish one of these days!

Christmas!

We spent Christmas in Spokane, well some of it. For a couple days, we stayed at Silver Mountain Lodge. We took a gondola up to the top of the mountain to go tubing on Christmas Eve. There was an indoor water park at the place where we stayed, too. And, best of all, on Christmas morning, we got to Skype with our brother, Mitch, who is serving a mission in Brazil right now.

It's much harder than it looks to get a decent picture of all 4 grandkids smiling, let alone looking in the same direction.

Our little angel for the Nativity.

The Shepherd and Little Drummer Boy.

We couldn't find any extra trash bags at the place where we were staying for all the wrapping paper, so we had no choice but to put it all in one of the bath tubs. Clearly, it made for a priceless photo-op.

 Lazy River

The waterslide had a bit of a surprise at the end.

Michael was definitely the surfing pro, but we all had fun trying : )

Wanna-be

Michael was Henry's Secret Santa, so he gave him a treasure map and a compass and we all had fun exploring around the property to find the hidden feathers that lead to the treasure chest.

X marks the spot!

 Wishing there was snow

Sunday Best
