Oaklyn the Triathlete

Oaklyn finished her first triathlon today! We did it as a family and we all loved every minute of it! Oaklyn splashed her way through the 50 yard swim, then hopped on the back of the bike for 2 miles, and then finished strong with a .5 mile run! We video-taped the whole race and claps and cheers for herself while she watches!

Our sweet body markings.

Before the Swim

She was so excited to start!

Nothing like stopping for a photo -op in the middle of a race

This is one of our favorites! Just two fast girls running : )

Team BROWN!

Oaklyn is One!

This little cutie just turned one! It's hard to believe it has been a whole yeah since we first held her in our arms. She is our greatest blessing and our pride and joy. We are so grateful to have her in our family. We feel so humbled and blessed to be her parents. She fills our lives and hearts with so much happiness. Every single day. We know we will be together as a family forever. Nothing brings us greater happiness than knowing that. Nothing.

4th of July

For those of you who are friends with my mom on facebook, you may have already seen some of these pictures : ) We went to the Molalla Buckeroo Rodeo for the 4th of July and thanks to Oaklyn's cousin Piper, she was able to dress the part and look like a real cowgirl.

Watching the parade

Good thing we put her in white overalls before she helped us wash the car : )

A Few Races

Triathlons are making a comeback in the Brown family. Today, we did the Hagg Lake Olympic Tri. It was such a blast, but we will be paying the price tomorrow when we are so sore we can't get out of bed. So worth it. It was a challenging course to say the least, especially the hilly bike and run legs. Little did we know, it was the NW Regional Olympic Championships....let's just say we saw a lot of really expensive bikes and chiseled calves.

On the 4th, we did the Freedom Run 5k with Oaklyn. It was her first race and she won the stroller division! Undefeated so far! The race went along the parade route, so there were people lining the streets cheering for us the whole way. For the record, a lot more people will cheer for you if you are pushing a really cute baby!

Our Life

Oaklyn is always on the lookout for planes. Whenever she hears one, she immediately raises her hand pointing to the sky. Her Daddy taught her that.

Yes, if you look close enough, there is a goldfish in her mouth. She is her mother's daughter.

We are sad to see Brazil take a turn for the worse the last couple games during the world cup, but Oaklyn doesn't seem to mind. She is no fair-weather fan.

This was last October, when she was about 3 months old.

For those of you who think Oaklyn is 100% cute 100% of the time, you are mostly right. Mostly. My mom always likes a pic of what she is wearing to church on Sundays...yeah this is usually how it goes.

Michael decided to make Oaklyn a new outfit...
