US OlympicTraining Center

We had a blast at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. We got to take a tour of the facilities on campus and Michael even saw Michael Phelps!

This was Oaklyn's first day training for Rio 2016. Gotta start 'em young. The visitor center had road bikes on trainers that were hooked up to a television simulation.

Don't be fooled. this bar was REALLY heavy.

Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, Get on up, its Bobsled time!

There were also rowing simulators that hooked up to the TV, so you could race the people next to you.

The US team store.

Wrestling training facility

We got to watch the practice of the U-18 US National Team. They were getting ready for a big international tournament.

Overlooking the newest cross-training gym.

Our cute little happy clapper girl

Oaklyn is already learning from "the Greats". This was one of the walls in the Olympic Hall of Fame.

Oaklyn felt right at home, wandering all over the place.

Garden Of the Gods

We had a great time in Colorado Springs hiking in Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful!!!!!!

This was seriously the best picture of Oaklyn that we got. She just wanted to show off all the hair she is getting.

It reminded us a lot of St George, with all the red rock. But, here there is also lots of green, so it is a double win!

These pics are in front of "Balancing Rock"...because it is a balancing rock. The base is about 3 feet across and the top is more like 30 feet in diameter. It was pretty cool.

This is a favorite pic of ours. It was taken at the bottom of Balancing Rock.

Summer has Sprung!

We tried fitting Oaklyn into the same adorable swim cap and swim suit as last summer, but apparently kids grow a lot in the first year. Fortunately, Grandma Rogers saved the day by getting her a new swimsuit with matching swim cap. We would hate for her hair to get wet...
