Oaklyn and the Derailers

For Memorial Day, we went on a bike ride on Marine Drive Trail. It is one of our all time favorite spots. It is a paved and flat trail that runs along the Columbia River. It was Oaklyn's first time on a bike and she loved it!

Coolest baby on the block.

We thought she was eating the graham crackers, until we turned around to come back and found a trail of crackers along the whole way : )

Well, the helmet mostly fit...at least her face would be protected if we crashed.

Since the trail is right by the airport, Oaklyn loved to watch the planes take off and land.

Dog Mountain

A few weekends ago, we went hiking with our friends, the Thorums, up Dog Mountain. It was on the Washington side of the Columbia River, overlooking the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. It was one of the most beautiful hikes we have been on in a while. We went at just the right time of the year, at the top, there were meadows of wildflowers everywhere! The weather was pretty crazy, too! The hike started off so hot, we were dying, regretting wearing so many layer, but by the time we got to the top, it was freezing! The wind was howling and the rain started coming down. We could see our breath. And in the blink on an eye, we were all of a sudden in the middle of clouds and our beautiful view was gone! Good thing we got a picture part way up : ) And of course, by the time we started descending, we quickly got hot again. Definitely a hike worth doing again! Oaklyn was a trooper...as long as we kept feeding her string cheese. She even fell asleep on the way down. Rough life.

Don't let the pictures fool you, Michael did most of the heavy lifting by carrying Oaklyn, I just got all the credit in the pictures!

A Day in the Life of Oaklyn

Ok, this one is a day in the life of all three of us, but we LOVE the farmers markets here in Portland! It is kind of our Saturday tradish.

Seriously, how did we get so many bows?

Awww.

No one can make Oaklyn laugh quite like her Daddy can.

Their first duet. Oaklyn and Annabelle Extraordinaire.

Sandbox Fun

Oaklyn ate more sand than food that day.

Finally a good way to put the mango pit to use. I hate wasting it!

Oaklyn and Brooklynn were destined to be friends.

Sometimes it is hard to be Oaklyn...

And sometimes it is REALLY hard to be Oaklyn!

This girl finally has a tooth starting to pop through. Can you see it?

Oregon Zoo

As of this week, we are now official members of the Oregon Zoo. We went twice this week : )

Oaklyn and Annabelle REALLY likes the fish! They were huge and they were soooo close!

Oaklyn was the one that scared the cheetah away!

The petting zoo was one of our favorite parts! The goats didn't seem to enjoy it as much as we did : )
